With the increasing emphasis on personalization and branding, more and more companies are starting to choose customized box packaging. Not only can you get a unique product effect, but you can also integrate the company's logo and brand concept into it. But as we all know, compared with large-scale assembly lines, customization not only has many processes, but the costs incurred in the process are also much higher than general packaging. Today, we will take packaging costs as the theme to talk about how to control costs for customized box packaging.
First of all, we need to figure out what parts the packaging cost generally consists of?
The customization process in the industry generally generates design fees, pre-press fees, material fees, printing fees, post-press processing fees, etc. But it should be noted that there is also a difference between fixed costs and non-fixed costs.
For relatively fixed cost components, we can start with material replacement or process simplification.
Under the premise of ensuring product safety, try to choose cost-effective paper to replace high-cost consumables to reduce cost investment. Or, under the premise of ensuring packaging quality, try to simplify the post-processing process, which can reduce the cost of custom packaging boxes to a certain extent.
1. Material cost
For packaging or printed products, material costs account for a large proportion of the entire cost. Not only basic consumables, but also plate fees, printing material fees, electrochemical aluminum fees, etc.
2. Printing costs
The floating range of this type of cost will be relatively large. For different types and grades of printing equipment, different printing plants or printing processes, the standards of printing costs are different, and color printing is generally priced by color order. When the overall printing volume is relatively small, it will be calculated according to the starting price.
3. Post-printing processing costs
For packaging, design and production are only the preliminary process. If you want to make the product more textured, post-printing technology must be indispensable. The calculation method of this type of processing technology is mainly calculated in units of processing number or area. For example, processes such as glazing, laminating, and hot stamping are generally calculated based on the processing area.
Among the non-fixed costs, proofing fees account for a relatively large proportion. If the design draft is frequently modified and multiple proofing is required, the proofing fees may even reach more than 10,000 yuan. Therefore, maintaining smooth communication channels between enterprises, design companies, printing factories, and factories, and reducing rework and proofing times are crucial to saving this part of the cost. At the same time, it can also save invisible costs such as labor and time.
